"Farmers on the
"C's" of Life"
Christmas
. . . a time to look back across the year and see where the Lord has brought you.
The seas of life might be rough when we are riding them, but looking back has a
way of smoothing out the picture.
Come with us
as we review our "C's" of 2007.
Michael continues to
Communicate
God's Word to our
Congregation
each week with fervor and
Conviction.
He has preached sermon series on "Knowing God's Will", "God's Family Values" and
"Understanding the Religion of Islam".
Construction
at the
Church has
kept him busy too. We've installed a beautiful new outdoor sign Michael
designed, a beautiful new double
Carport and
Covered
walkway, remodeled one of the main hallways and
Created and
furnished a new
Conference
room. Our next project will be new
Carpet!
Go to our
Church
website for pictures. Speaking of websites, Michael is managing 7 websites
including several blogs...when he finds the time. He's had to turn down requests
to build other websites.
Mandy
Convinced our
Choir
director to present the Easter
Cantata she
has done many times. "For Me It Was Different". It was wonderful. We were even
able to take it "on the road"
(to
Cairo, GA).
Mandy has also organized a
Creative
Movements Team which has been presenting very moving musical arrangements using
sign language, gestures, and dowel rods. Mandy still runs a Home School
Co-Op
which has grown to 38 families.
One year ago, we sent Brian south to
Cairo, GA to
begin his
Career as
senior pastor at
Cairo
Church of the
Nazarene. He has completed
his first full year as their pastor. It seems he has found his niche
with the wonderful people there. They are off to a tremendous start.
They have overpaid their budgets by 15% and raised $1000 to donate to our
district's Home Missions program, which works to plant new Nazarene
Churches in
GA. They've bought and set up a video projection system and
Created a
Computer
network. They have also reworked their sound system, adding several new
Components. A
new roof was put on the
Church a few
months back too. He's only 45 minutes from home. Brian's latest addition is
Chester,
a orange tabby
Cat.
If you
Converse
with Brett (16) at all, you will soon find that he really enjoys history and
politics. He stays busy with school and technical ministry at
Church. He is
in
Charge of the
Video Projector Ministry and does an outstanding job. He
Creates all
the PowerPoint files for our worship services, which involves the songs that are
sung, announcement slides and the sermon notes to go along with his dad’s
sermons. He assists our Sound Tech too. He also is learning to drive the
Car!
Brett has a very special way of relating to adults and currently attends a
Couple of our adult Sunday School
Classes.
Mikaela (11) is still
Competing
in Bible Quizzing, making
Chocolates,
and learning more about home-making. She is a big help to her mother in the
kitchen, where there's very little she
Can not do. She’s been learning to sew
and actually made her own
Costume for
the fall festival this October. (She won the Best
Costume
Award). Still a blossoming violinist, Mikaela got to try her hand at the
Cello in her
strings class. Mikaela has a very quick and sharp wit about her, often
Coming
up with that perfect funny, remark to something one of us is doing. When she and
her dad are allowed to get their heads together, well I bet you
Can figure
out the rest!
Daniel, Tina and Austin
Continue
to live in Savannah, GA. and remain active in the Nazarene
Church.
Daniel has taken on a Boy Scout troop that keeps them busy. They really enjoy
the
Camping trips.
Austin is simply amazing, growing like a weed and
Constantly
surprises us with all he knows.
The people at Moultrie First have been very gracious to us this
year. For
Clergy
Appreciation, the
Church board gave us a bonus (1 week's salary) and a $50
weekly raise. The
Congregation
presented us with a money tree ($350), and the Pastor's Prayer Partners Team
gave us a
Coastal
get-away to St. Simon's Island along with spending money.
If you're
Curious
about this wonderful place
Called Moultrie, drop by on your way to/from Florida.
We’re only 30 easy minutes from I-75. We would love to see you again!
