READERS - four pages

You were given a short reader to work on translating. You may have been instructed to share this book with a sibling or nearby friend. You may work together. Each person is required to translate 4 pages by next week. Therefore; if you are working together, eight pages should be translated.

You may like to own your own Latin-English dictionary. THe curriculum suggests the New COllege LAtin - English Dictionary by John C. Traupman

2nd Quarter Project – Ancient History Fair on Dec 16th
This is the major part of your semester grade

Topic: Ancient World Contributions to Modern Society (Western Civilization)

Report on something from the ancient world that has contributed to our society today. This could be anything from architecture to warfare, writing to government, art, religion, philosophy, people. Examples could be one of the Ancient Wonders of the World, a great leader or writer/orator. The topic/person must have existed before 1500 AD

Requirements:

A. Sources (at least one book, and 1 internet (use Galileo)
7th-9th grades – 2-3 sources 10th – 12th grades 3-5 sources
B. Create a project board
C. 3-5 minute report ~ history of, what was the effect on the ancient world, what is the effect on our world
D. Try to include something interactive that we can touch, feel, or experience
E. No make-up dates.

Work Timeline (due dates)

Nov 4 – Turn in your topic (Chose two in case of duplicates or problems finding enough information)
Nov 11 – Gather sources turn in Bibliography. This should be MORE than you will actually use
Nov 18 – Turn in list of questions you want to find answers to.
Dec 9 – Outline due
Dec 16 – Project complete. Give presentation
